Joe Tipton

Senior Minister

Joe is originally from Wilmore, KY. He is a graduate of Asbury University and holds a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Leadership from Cincinnati Christian University. He had two successful youth ministries at The Carpenter’s Christian Church in Harrodsburg, Ky and Jessamine Christian Church in Nicholasville, Ky. In 2008, he was promoted to Associate Minister at Jessamine Christian Church and began a ministry of preaching and teaching. Joe started at FCC in August of 2011.His primary areas are preaching and leadership.

Joe is an avid sports fan (Go Cats!), basketball official, and golfer. Joe is married to his wife Jamie and they have three sons, Canon, and twins Jack and Andrew. His hobbies are reading, music and golf.

David Phillips

Associate Minister

David has attended First Christian Church for most of his life. He was ordained at FCC in 2013 and says he has been blessed to work as part of the staff since then in a bi-vocational role. He also says he is privileged to help with visitation, discipleship programming, and teach occasionally.

David is also part of the FCC ministry team at Otter Creek Academy. He and his wife Angela have one son, Kendall. David enjoys spending time with his family and working with Kendall's basketball team. He is employed by Hospice of Lake Cumberland and works in the marketing department.

Jamie Reagan

Worship Leader

Jamie says he has been blessed to be a part of FCC Monticello since May 2012 as the Worship Minister. Music, as you would expect, is a big part of his life but he also enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 daughters. They take every opportunity to go kayaking, camping, fishing and or boating on the lake. "Leading worship here has been a blessing for me", Jamie states. "There is nothing like seeing people come together in one mind and one accord to sing praises to our God and I look forward to many more years of doing God’s work here at FCC."

Anita Bowman

Children's Director

Anita began attending FCC in the fall of 1997 & was baptized in March of 1998. She began working with FCC Kids in August of 2016.

FCC kids is the children’s ministry at First Christian Church. The goal is to welcome kids into the church and help them to develop their own faith & love for Jesus.

Anita is married to Seth and they have 5 children, Liam, Eli, Cailyn and twins Addie and Josie. Anita home schools their children and leads a local Girl Scout troop. Family hobbies include hiking, gardening and traveling.

Austin Shearer

Family Minister

Austin started attending youth group at First Christian Church when he was in high school. He was later baptized at FCC when he was 18 years old. He attended Lindsey Wilson College, and while obtaining his Bachelor’s degree ended up doing a short-term internship at FCC, which earned him a minor in Christian Ministry. After college he moved to Lancaster, KY where he served as youth minister at Victory Christian Church for almost two years. Austin was blessed with an opportunity to return home in 2018, He has a passion for outreach in our community and event planning.

He and his wife Bethany have one son, Myles. They enjoy traveling, reading, Netflix shows, and watching Wayne County & University of Kentucky sporting events.

John Handlos

Community Impact Minister

John is originally from Tampa, FL but moved to Knoxville, TN to attend Johnson University. After graduating with a Church Leadership and Preaching degree, he stayed in that area and served as Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship at Seymour Heights Christian Church. In 2017, John moved to Middletown, Rhode Island to serve at OceanPointe Christian Church as the Discipleship Minister.

In early 2022, John and his wife, Christine, along with their two youngest children, Samarah and Trent, moved to Monticello where they could be closer to their two older children, Brandon and Casey, as well as extended family in the area.

John loves chili dogs, the Chicago Cubs, and wearing shorts year round.

Bailey Wright

Next Gen Worship Associate

Bailey Wright had been part of FCC as a child, being baptized there in 2007. Soon after, she and her family relocated to Lancaster, KY, joining Victory Christian Church. In 2011, Bailey began singing regularly in the worship team at VCC, which kick-started her love for worship. Moving back to Monticello in 2016, Bailey and her family joined FCC again and she became a member of the worship team. Traveling to lead worship at churches in the Lake Cumberland area that needed worship while in college, she decided to slow that down and focus on ministry in worship at her home church, FCC, and in her local community. Bailey also leads a middle/high school girls Bible study. She graduated from EKU in 2022 with a degree in Middle Grade Education. While in college, Bailey was a member of a campus ministry, which helped her develop a deeper love for spreading the Gospel, especially to middle/high school aged girls. Bailey is a Social Studies teacher at the local middle school. “I’m so excited and blessed to be working with the great people of FCC. I cannot wait to see how God will use this role to further His kingdom,” she states.

Jennifer Patton

Secretary

Jennifer has been at FCC since October of 1996. She has been married to her husband Scott for 25 years and they enjoy being outdoors.
